Kelsie + Tyler | SLC Reservoir Spring Wildflowers Couples Session

This session with Kelsie and Tyler was one of those spring evenings that just feels so good. We headed up one of my favorite spots in the Salt Lake canyons, right as the wildflowers were starting to pop. The reservoir was glowing in the background, the light was soft, and everything felt so alive after a long winter. Spring really showed off for us that day, and I’m so happy with how these turned out!

Kelsie and I go all the way back to our college days—we were in the same cohort for our elementary education major at BYU, and now we both teach 4th grade (yes, our classrooms are basically next door to each other). She’s been one of my fav people since college, and now we get to do real life together—lesson plans, staff meetings, and all the things in between. School had JUST ended for us both the day before taking these photos, so taking these was almost a celebratory hurrah to summer ahead of us.

We bought tickets to the Eras tour and booked two nights in the sketchiest little Vegas motel room without our husbands having ever met, but somehow that was the beginning of the best friendship. 😂 The boys bonded over being Swiftie husbands and playing Catan by the janky motel lamp (because there was no actual light in the room lol) and the rest is history. Now it feels like the four of us were always meant to be friends.

I hadn’t photographed Kelsie and Tyler together before, and it was SO fun getting them in front of my camera. They’re goofy, sweet, and totally comfortable with each other—which makes my job easy. The way they kept each other laughing the whole time was so fun to watch, and we just wandered around the canyon chasing light and flowers. It was one of those sessions where time flew by and everything just felt easy.

Scroll through some of my favorite shots from their session—this one is full of flowers, laughs, and golden hour magic.
